Photograph article dated January 16, 1964 partially reads, "Appointment of Lockheed-California aircraft production veteran Derk A. McCardy, Woodland Hills, to head the company's Palmdale plant as works manager has been announced. McCardy, division manager of P-3 Orion antisubmarine aircraft assembly since May 1962, succeeds Roy A. Shettel in the Palmdale post. Shettel has been named production manager of the Lockheed-Georgia Company."
