Connie and Eleanor begin the interview discussing the loss of Eleanor’s son and how that experience made Eleanor a more appreciative person. They then move into a discussion of Eleanor’s life as a documentary filmmaker and how her career started in that industry, and her experiences working with Marlon Brando. They proceed to discuss the unwillingness in the West to talk about death and grieving before moving into a discussion of Eleanor’s ideal type of day with her husband, as well as the film industry’s particularities. Eleanor goes on to talk about her current projects, in addition to her husband’s current activities. Connie raises the issue of ageism and Eleanor’s husband in Hollywood, and Eleanor talks about how her husband adapts to that reality. Connie closes the interview requesting a signature for her copy of the book.
