Description
Exterior front corner view of the single-story residence of fruit grower, wine maker, and public official Matthew Keller at 726-1/2 Alameda Street, Los Angeles, near Aliso Street. This was part of a 40-acre holding that he bought in the early 1850s. It was also known as the "Winery." In this photo it is for rent as warehouses, factory buildings or garages. A sign reads, "Industrial Development and Land Company." A railroad track is seen in front. It was possibly the first brick house in Los Angeles.
