Harold I. Gullan discusses his book, “First Fathers.” He begins by explaining how United States Presidents differ from their fathers, and talks about the different lessons they have learned from them. He discusses some fathers and sons who have both been Presidents such as the Adams and Bush families. He describes the policies of the Presidents who didn’t know their fathers, and how that affected them. He talks about parental pressures on men who are driven towards success. He ends the interview by discussing how he is the only historian who focuses on the parents and families of Presidents.
