Description
Portrait of two children, both with long dark hair and corkscrew curls. The one on the left (believed to be James) has a large bow in their hair, and is wearing a gingham shirt with large black bow at the neck. The one on the right (believed to be Mary) is wearing a dark dress with large lace overlay. Handwritten note on reverse, "Dear Aunt Emmeline. Here we are. Traveled all these miles to see you and we intend to stay as long as you will keep us. We don't believe we will get one bit homesick for mamma says she did not when she was to visit you. I wish you would come in to see us at our home. Mary E. and James K. Kurtz." Portrait was found inside Denhart family Bible (2022-25-3).
