In the mid-1960s, Glen-Aire Country Club became the campus of the Buckley School. Photograph caption dated November 12, 1962 reads, "Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gelson, left, receive award from San Fernando Valley Welfare Planning Council at fall membership dinner-meeting at Glen-Aire Country Club. Making presentation was Jurral Rhee, president of area council, and Mrs. Gene Moore, program chairman. Gelson was honored for 'contributing to public understanding of Valley health, welfare and recreation agencies through a series of commodity service newspaper advertisements' in the Valley Times TODAY and weekend."
