Description
Image of an advertisement for New England Condensed Mince Meat sold by Thomas Edwin Dougherty of Port Byron, New York; a caricature of Uncle Sam sits atop a stack of crates of mincemeat handing out slices of mince pie as dozens of famous men climb up ladders and jockey for a piece; caricatures of more political figures in suits march and play instruments in a band in the lower portion of the image.
Date supplied by cataloger based on company history; T. E. Dougherty manufactured and sold mincemeat in Port Byron from 1885-1943. "Rochester Lith. & Print Co."--text, bottom left margin. "A duplicate of this picture may be had by remitting 25¢ to T. E. Dougherty. Port Byron, N.Y."--text, bottom center margin. "VAN"--text, artist's signature on stone, bottom right of image.
