Description
Thought for the day by Charles Handy on the drawbacks of self-denial for the individual and society, in consideration of Lent. Handy begins his thought discussing how, all too often, society is set up to make the majority of people feel inadequate if they do not follow a certain course in life or achieve certain ends. Handy, instead, believes that each person is given his or her own individual talents to contribute to the world to improve creation and the lives of others, and that these talents should be encouraged and developed.
