Description
Wall Street Journal article by Peter F. Drucker on the various kinds of teams in organizations and how these teams are tools to be selectively used by management. Drucker states that the reason for so many past company failures has been the belief among executives that there is only one type of team. According to Drucker, there are actually three kinds of teams - the baseball team, the football team, and the doubles team. Drucker applies these team models to various organizations and corporations in order to explain their respective meanings and particular usefulness. He concludes the article by stating that teams are simply a fact of effective labor practices and that proper models must be used depending on an organization's needs.
