Description
This circa 1924 parade along K Street at Ninth is fcaptured in this photograph featuring a marching band followed by a drill team, all of whom are dressed in military uniform. Led by a line of men in civilian clothes and a color guard flying flags, the marchers walk on either side of street cars. A large crowd of spectators lines the street and business signs clearly identify the downtown merchants of the day. Capitol Theatre (615 K Street), C.J. Heeseman Clothing (619 K Street), Mrs. Anna Bernstein Millinery (621 K Street), Scotch Tailors (623 K Street), Golden Eagle Hotel (627 K Street), and Bon Marche Women's Clothes (631 K Street). Rows of automobiles are parked along the street, a few of which have parade watchers looking out.
