The beach is at center and is a narrow swath of sand bordered by crashing waves at left and a line of buildings at right. A half-timber-style building is in the foreground at left, and several cars are parked in front of it. A short pier or breakwater extends into the sea at center, and another can be seen in the distance at right. The edge of the cliff from which the photograph was taken can be seen in the foreground, and Pacific Coast Highway is in the foreground at left.
