Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Original photograph has several light colored stains. The name of the library was changed from North Hollywood Sidney Lanier Regional Branch to North Hollywood Amelia M. Earhart Regional Branch in 1980. Photograph caption dated June 22, 1957 reads "Staff aids bookworms. Mrs. Rosaleen Murman (not pictured), left, head branch librarian, and Mrs. Marion Duane, right, children's branch librarian, are among staff of seven full-time librarians which man North Hollywood library. Facility serves both as branch and regional library. In addition to serving approximately 31,465 card holders, librarians also fill more than 100 requests a day which come in from nine city branch libraries in Valley and from mobile library which makes 22 different Valley stops.
