Interior shot of Pat Loomis at the altar inside the Ng Shing Gung. Image was likely featured in the San Jose Mercury News. Caption accompanying photo: "Buddying [sic] reporter-ette Patricia Loomis prays before the Great Buddha, asking 'Oh ancient one, will I ever attain wisdom?' On having heard the answer, Miss Loomis was reported to have said, 'Same to you fella.' " [Note: While symbols from Buddhism and Confucianism were incorporated around the altar, the Ng Shing Gung was a Taoist temple.]
