Description
Connie and Dr. Love begin the interview discussing that breast cancer is scary because it forces women to confront their mortality. For the majority of the interview, they discuss the treatment options available to women diagnosed with breast cancer from chemotherapy and radiation treatments to hormonal therapies and surgery. In addition to discussing the different treatments available to women with breast cancer, Dr. Love also highlights the need for more research on breast cancer to develop better therapies. In particular, Dr. Love encourages women that have or have had breast cancer to participate in this research to help further the development of treatments for breast cancer, and to provide more information about women’s health in general. Connie and Dr. Love end the interview discussing the need for greater funding, both private and public, to further research into women’s health issues from breast cancer to heart disease.
