Description
Picture of seven men working on loading ore into wagon: four standing on planks and ramp above wagon with full wheelbarrows, three standing on the ground near the ramp. Horses are hitched to the ore wagon, which is partially hidden by the ramp. Typewritten label at lower right corner: "Loading ore wagon. Bulmore Collection." Photo is pierced on left and right sides. On back of photo: Handwritten in ink: "Near Day tunnel, New Almaden, Calif. Wm. Mitchel, planilla foreman, at extreme left." Stamped in ink: "Laurence E. Bulmore 1831 San Pedro Berkeley, California." Handwritten in ink: "From Mrs. J.R. Bailey (Leoline Hopkins) Almaden School teacher late 1880's."
