Description
Photograph shows Written on front: Balakala Smelter, Coram, Shasta County. Written on back: Kennett, California, 7-22-08, George came last evening, we walked to Coram [Shasta County] this afternoon - 4 miles from Kennett. Came back on 6:35 train - supper downtown, and then home to clubhouse about 7:30. he is not going down there to work - White treated him rather cool today. so he said to me he would not go under any consideration. I don't want any of it in [the] mine. I would sooner work at the Mammoth [smelter]. We had a fun time together and a hot, long walk. He is going to bring his family out here in September and I think I will [bring] mine. Will write again soon and let you know more about it. To: Mrs. J. A. Leslie, Sandy, Utah. Kennett, an old mining town, is now under Shasta Lake.
