This is a photograph of Fr. Haggerty conversing with parishoners after Mass. There is a woman in the center and young boys and men smiling and talking. Born in New York, Fr. Haggerty came to Maryknoll in 1927 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1934. He was assigned to Fushun, Manchuria that same year and returned on the SS Gripsholm in 1942. He returned to Manchuria in 1945 and spent years in Shanghai, Seattle, Taiwan and Africa.
