Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated March 27, 1965 partially reads, "Bud Lanning and his titian-haired dainty, Marie, are Newport Beach friends we haven't seen in a long while. But when we get together with them and the Wilmesses - Bobby and Ruth - in Newport Beach it's like old home week. The dinner party the Lannings tossed in their handsome new home last Wednesday night was a treat that Ben and I won't forget for a long time. It was superb. Actually, the fete was in honor of two most distinguished figures in the service of the Catholic Church. They were Senor Peter J. Velez de Silva, ambassador to this country for the Military Order of Malta, a high level papal organization, and Fr. Robert Ross, Catholic priest who has been visiting in Orange County where he was pastor in Westminster for 17 years." Note: Pictured are Senora Valez [sic] de Silva, Senor Valez [sic] de Silva and Bud Lanning.
