Description
Photograph of a distant view of Mount San Antonio from Orange, ca.1914. The city of Orange is visible in the foreground and is made up mostly of small wooden buildings mixed in with tall trees. The tall, snow-capped peak of Mount San Antonio, or Old Baldy, can be seen in the background at center. Extending out in both directions from the 10,100 foot-tall mountain is the rest of the San Gabriel mountain range. The original photograph is inscribed as follows: "To H.W. O'Melveny Dec. 25th 1914 with Best Wishes and Warmest Regards, C.J.K. Jones, Orange, California".
