Description: View of Pomona in 1875 looking northwest from 3rd and Main Streets. Its development began at that time after 11 years of "bad luck". Before that it had been grazing land for mission cattle. It is named after the goddess of fruit in Roman mythology. Photo ran November 13, 1951.
