Description
Caption reads, "Courtyard view of Hugo and Victoria Reid's adobe at the Arboretum. Well is at the left and rocks at right are believed to be the original baptismal font from one of the early California missions." Photo dated: March 29, 1964.; The adobe was constructed in 1840 with the help of Gabrielino laborers and built of sun-dried adobe blocks made by mixing clay soil, water and a straw binder. The adobe is designated California Historical Landmark No. 368. The ranch was owned by E. J. "Lucky" Baldwin from 1875 to 1909.
