This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Early day members of S.F. Fire Department. Left to right are [Chief] David Scannell, John Ross, Matt Brady, James Riley and." The two men on the right are unidentified. Scannell is sitting in a chair. The man at extreme right is seated at a table. The backdrop appears to be painted. This also seems to be a photograph of a framed photo under glass.
