Description
Photograph of exterior view of a deteriorating adobe on Villa Creek, San Luis Obispo County, ca.1900. At center, the wall of an adobe is greatly deteriorated. Chunks of plaster no longer cover sections of the wall, large boards cover the wall at left, and a deep gouge can be seen along the edge of the wall at right. A thin roof covers the building overhead. A small wooden gate can be seen to the right of the building. The right side of the structure is entirely composed of wood. Pipes and assorted pieces of metal sit along the structure at left. Previous version of record states: "Said to have been the home of Rafael Vailla[...]icencio who was the grantee in 1842 of the Rancho San Geronimo on which it is located. Modern ranch home built on its site. One room only remaining. Pole rafters, put together with wood pegs on dairy ranch of salicci(?)".
