Paralysis gripped Los Angeles' street car and bus system after 3200 employees of the Los Angeles Railway Co. walked out. A group of the workers are shown in the trainmen's room at the Fifty-fourth street barns, tearing off the bottom half of a strike instruction sign, "Because," they said, "this strike might go on indefinitely." The original plan was to go back to work at 3 a.m. the next day.
