Description
Connie and Scott begin the interview discussing the similar upbringings of Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy. They go on to talk about Kennedy’s poor early health and his promiscuity before talking about Reagan as the Republican counterpart to Kennedy, and the many celebrity and romantic contacts they both came into contact with throughout their political careers. Connie and Scott then reflect on the legacies of Kennedy and Reagan, specifically the standard they established that presidents should have charisma and have grand visions for the nation, and the effect of their assassination experiences on their images. They move on to consider Reagan’s Hollywood background, and the differences between Kennedy’s and Reagan’s presidential libraries, before discussing how they relate to the Bushes, and Scott’s own previous involvement in politics. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
