Photograph caption dated April 18, 1963 reads, "Roland (Rolly) White, right, receives first-place trophy from Walter O. Hofer of Optimists International, for winning the Optimist Oratorical contest. Rolly faced seven finalists to win the trophy, and a trip to Bakersfield, May 18, to compete in the District 14 (all of So. Calif. and Nevada) contest. Rolly represented the Canoga Park Optimist Club."
