Description
Washington: The White House said 10/6 Pres. Nixon was unaware that Mrs. Romana Banuelos' business had been raided five times by immigration agents when he nominated her to be Treasurer of the United States last month. Mrs. Banuelos' Mexican food plant in Gardena, Calif., was raided a sixth time 10/5 and Federal agents arrested 36 Mexican employees who had entered the country illegally. Here, Nixon is shown with Mrs. Banuelos 9/20 when he announced her nomination at the White House. Her signature is at bottom.
