Description
The "Africanized stylization" of three figures in an arched frame and the title given by the artist reflect the quality of a Christian icon and image of Madonna and child. In rendition, there are three figures with the female child wearing a rebozo circling her face and the younger child looking at the viewer. The mother leans into the children with her arm wrapped around them, the size and prominence suggesting protection.
