Over 500 people demonstrated in front of Federal Building in downtown to protest the beginning of closed hearings held by a subcommittee of House Committee on Un-American Activities. The picket signs, such as "Stop the HUAC now," "We oppose the HUAC, " and "Abolish HUAC" clearly reject the existence of HUAC. Photograph dated April 24, 1962.
