In 1920 he came to the United States and was employed by the Edison Company of Boston. He entered Maryknoll in 1923 and was ordained to the priesthood on June 5, 1932. In July of the same year he was assigned to Wuchow, China as one of the pioneers of the mission. Having completed his language studies, he worked in various parishes in the territory. In 1937, he was diagnosed with typhoid fever and subsequently died. He is buried in the Maryknoll cemetery outside the city of Kweilin in China.
