This is a photograph of a group of boys with their former pastor, Fr. Leo Foley.
Born in Newfoundland, Fr. Foley was employed by the Canadian Postal Service and later, as a member of the Newfoundland Regiment saw action in France during the First World War. In 1920 he came to the United States and was employed by the Edison Company of Boston. He entered Maryknoll in 1923 and was ordained to the priesthood on June 5, 1932. In July of the same year he was assigned to Wuchow, China as one of the pioneers of the mission. Having completed his language studies, he worked in various parishes in the territory.
