"This diploma of graduation from the grammar school of Bloomfield District is awarded by the County Board of Education of Sonoma County to Russel Lynn Smith for having successfully completed the course of study proscribed for the grammar schools of the County. [Signed], Mabel S. Hall, principal; E. Morris Cox, President, County Board of Education; [and] Minnie Coulter, Secretary, County Board of Education. July 3rd, 1899."
