Description
Dion Boucicault writes to Herman Charles Merivale, informing him that he is "pushing" Rose Coghlan, and not to worry about Boucicault's clerk, Townsend, intercepting the money Coghlan is going to pay. Boucicault has paid Townsend a fee in place of his "(imaginary) claims," and if he took more it would be a criminal offense. See Dion Boucicault letter, undated (phl00555) and Dion Boucicault letter dated 1886 December 24 (phl00558) for more on the affair with Townsend.
