Two white tents with large numbers written on them are displayed in front of wooden shelters in the refugee camp on the road to Perquín, El Salvador. Few people (two women holding children, two men and two older children) stand next to the shelter. By the end of February, the guerrillas invaded Perquín and the entire northern Morazán was in the hands of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN).
