Photograph caption dated January 9, 1965 reads, "Shifting sand dunes in Death Valley were caused when resistant quartz, exposed to the wind, became sand particles and then was blown into huge piles. Wind changes the character of these dunes and the footprints of man are erased. The sand dumes [sic] are best viewed at sunrise or sunset."; See images #00132364 through #00132366 for all photos in this series.
