Description
View looking south down north First Street from the corner of St. James Street. On the right is the portico of the Santa Clara County Courthouse. Next to the courthouse is the St. James Hotel, originally built in 1870, enlarged to four stories in 1888, and demolished in 1932. To the left are palm trees planted in St. James Park. A streetcar heads north toward the viewer and automobiles line both sides of the street.
