Description
In front of old City Hall. Harry Stevens, Driver. Date on plates January 1917. City of Monrovia. F.H. Sandefor - Pres.; C.O. Banks, W.F. Dunn, R.G. Harvey, J.P. Daniel, Geo. C. King, Fire Chief. The purchase of the Seagrave was prompted by the burning of the La Vista Grande Hotel in 1916. The purchase of its predecessor fire engine to replace a chemical cart had been prompted by the burning of the Scotia Hotel in 1906.
