Description
The photo caption in the Sacramento Bee, January 29, 1969, states: "Only the levee outlines Sherman Island, which was flooded during the recent storm when the levee gave way, forcing hundreds of farm families to leave their homes. The Sacramento River is at the right and the San Joaquin River at left. Snow covered Mt. Diablo gleams in the sun in the background."
