Description
Engraved map, 29 x 33, with an inset. Paris, 1772. Stated to be extracted from two maps published at the beginning of the seventeenth century, the large one from Visscher's map of 1612, and the inset from a Plancius phanisphere also published by Visscher, but in 1641, and dedicated to Louis XIII. I have not seen either of these, but I think the first date is an error. Cabrillo names are used. Mendocino is in 42°.
