Description
Markwell Building in Long Beach under construction, later called the Jergins Trust Building. It contained the State Theatre at 104 East Ocean Boulevard .; The architects were Harvey Lochridge and Kirkland Cutter. The theater and six story office building were completed in 1919. The building also contained the Long Beach Municipal Court offices until a separate court building was built in 1960. An underground walkway went from the north side of Ocean Blvd., under the building, to an underground arcade beneath the theater.
