Description
This circa 1975 postcard shows the California State Capitol building is featured, as viewed from across the street directly between the State Library and Courts Building. The pool and fountain surrounded by flower beds are still in place but the automobiles shown date back to the decade the “Colorscope” process used in this card was new in 1973. The west portico highlighted in the upper center is one of six entrances to the Capitol Building constructed over a century earlier when the dome shone a natural copper color before the variations of green and white that appeared after 1893
