View of a street of homes with the street in the foreground; first house is a 2 story wooden structure on the corner of the street; short side of house is on right with lamp post in front and long side is on left with leafless tree outside; entrance is on left with two vertical windows on its right; above 3 vertical windows below flat roof; to its left is a 2nd house, a Victorian 2 story with stairs and railing leading to front door; on its left is a one story house and at end of photo on its left is another 2 story with a basement level and an outside fireplace. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Occupied in 1878 by Jerome Carrol Sec. of the Pac. Mutual Life Insturance Company..."
