Title supplied by cataloger. Frank DeSimone graduated from the University of Southern California Law School and became a lawyer in 1933. Soon after he turned to a life in crime and was an attorney for organized crime figures in Los Angeles. He was the boss of the Los Angeles crime family from 1956 to 1967. He was sometimes referred to as "One Eye" because one of his eyes drooped. Desimone was identified as having attended a 1957 Apalachin "crime convention" at the home of a known gangster in New York in November, 1957. That "convention" led to a federal investigation. Photograph caption dated May 21, 1959 reads "Frank Desimone indicted by federal grand jury."
