Description: St. Francis Dam in San Francisquito Canyon near Saugus was completed in 1926 and failed in 1928. It was part of the Owens Valley Aqueduct System. This post-failure photograph shows the main part of the dam in the background of the picture, with a large chunk of dam having washed down into the area seen in the foreground here.
