Photograph article dated January 22, 1962 partially reads, "Since casting his first presidential vote in 1900, 81-year-old Harry Grant has witnessed such political movements as the Bull Moose, La Follette Progressives, the New Deal and now the New Frontier. And he's a little puzzled. 'I just don't know what people mean about loss of freedom,' the retired North Hollywood Democrat said, commenting on charges that the growth of the federal government has curtailed individual freedom... A retired fruit-packing contractor, Grant lives with his two sisters-in-law, Helen Diamond and Jessie Hamilton, at 5436 Denny Ave., North Hollywood, since the death of his wife, Grace, in 1946. Member of four Democratic clubs in hte [sic] Valley, Grant has copies of his voting record in 16 elections, ever since casting a vote for William Jennings Bryan and Adlai E. Stevenson at the turn of the century."
