Description
Photograph of an exterior view of a building dedicated to veterans of World War I, ca.1921. The byzantine-style building can be seen at center. It has a large rectangular base with two smaller rectangular tiers on top. The highest tier is topped by a pyramid. Shields, possibly coats-of-arms, can be seen across the top of the first tier. A howitzer can be seen on the steps of the building, with several shells behind it. Trees and bushes flank the stairs leading to the entrance of the building, an American flag can be seen at left. An automobile can be seen parked on a street at right, and more trees and buildings can be seen on the hills in the background. Signs on the building read, from top to bottom: "Foch Pershing", "MCMXXI In Peace as in war we serve MCMXVII", and "For God and Country we associate our [...] for the following purposes to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America".
