Description
Drilling grout holes - this machine set in an inspection gallery inside the base in dam is drilling a hole (one of 100s) deep in bedrock below the dam, preparatory to final high-pressure grouting of the foundation rock. Grout, which is a slurry of cement water, is forced into holes and thereby into tiny seems or cracks which always exist in seemingly solid rock, effectively sealing them against percolation.
