Description
Copies of checks signed by John Stompanato, one for $25,000 made out to himself and found on him August 5, 1949, when taken in by police on a charge of vagrancy. The other is made out to Jules Friedman and Max Fink, executors of the estate of Victor A. Makzoume, deceased, for $3,357.50. The deceased was the late husband of Helen Gilbert, to whom Stompanato was married between February 1949 and July 8, 1949, when they were divorced. The check is dated March 8, 1949.
