Exterior view of the Phineas Banning residence in Wilmington, with its eucalyptus grove. The land also serves as a public park. Banning was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and gave this name to a purchase of property for port expansion adjacent to San Pedro. He was an entrepeneur and is generally known as the Father of the Port of Los Angeles.
