Photograph caption dated April 5, 1961 reads, "These Sherman Oaks girls, Linda Strong, 13, 3475 Camino de la Cumbre, and Teri Shaffer, 13, 3373 Coy Dr., wait patiently for the school bus by the sign that closed Beverly Glen Boulevard to non-resident over-the- mountain traffic today. Although the sign is preventing many vehicles from using the road--closed for long-awaited storm drain construction--many drivers are reported still using the connection between the Valley and such points as Beverly hills, Bel Air, UCLA and Westwood."
