Description
A miniature railroad is the subject of this circa 1910 postcard, set in the Oak Park neighborhood of Sacramento. Largely considered to be one of Sacramento's first amusement parks, Oak Park, later called Joyland, was founded in 1889. The park included a roller coaster known as the Scenic Railway, a merry-go-round, the "cat o' nine tails" and a venue for vaudeville shows.
